Covid-19 Response Update
April 8, 2020
I want to take a moment to update everyone regarding the COVID-19 crisis in relation to soccer programming within our club and Wisconsin Youth Soccer (WYSA).
As we have all been living what seems to be an alternate life the past three weeks, it appears from all indications, that we will be continuing this for at least a short period of time to come. Rest assured that everyone’s health, welfare and safety is our top concern at this point. I hope all your family and friends are weathering this situation safely.
While we wish we could provide some certainty in this uncertain time, the reality is that we cannot. Following the guidance from US Youth Soccer and Wisconsin Youth Soccer, we are hoping to provide soccer programming this spring/summer. Based on the most recent information from US Soccer and the various Governments (Federal and State) and Health organizations (CDC, Johns Hopkins, WI Dept of Health Services), WYSA is hoping to have a modified season starting after Memorial Day. We certainly hope that we can provide our kids with some semblance of normality late this spring. However, we understand based on the fluidity and constantly rapidly changing environment, this ultimately may be a challenge.
Please refer to our website and look to the resources section for soccer activities kids can work on individually, while they wait for their teams to get back to action. Attached is a communication from WYSA that outlines resources available to help coaches, referees, players and parents as we work through this challenge.
We will continue to provide updates as we move forward. Most importantly, be safe, healthy and take care!
